Breezy palm trees, sparkling waters, and golden sand also make Akumal Beach an ideal setting for a day of fun in the sun, with plenty of nearby restaurants and shops.

Day 2 – Explore the Tulum Ruins

Tulum was once an ancient port town on the coast, and the ruins now represent one of the best-preserved Mayan cities in Mexico. There are a variety of tour options that allow you to explore the ruins with a professional guide, and these often include transportation and lunch, making it an excellent day trip for the whole family.

Day 3 – Visit Akumal Monkey Sanctuary

The Akumal Monkey Sanctuary is a wildlife preserve that rescues monkeys, along with other primates. The sanctuary allows guests to meet, touch, and hold many of the animals, and kids especially will love interacting with adorable monkeys. The guided tours provide fascinating facts about various wildlife and emphasize the need to protect these endangered species.

The sanctuary also provides tours that include cenote swims and ATV rides, making it an ideal destination for a day of family fun!

Xcaret is an eco-archeological amusement park with such a huge variety of activities that you could easily spend more than one day exploring it.
